Former President Donald Trump called Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a “horrible city” during a House Republican meeting this week. His comment has drawn widespread condemnation from Democrats, who are leveraging it for political gain.

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has launched billboards in Milwaukee featuring Trump’s quote: “Milwaukee, where we are having our convention, is a horrible city.” The Wisconsin Democratic Party also used the remark in a fundraising email, urging supporters to stand against Trump’s contempt for Wisconsinites.

Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson criticized Trump’s comments, stating, “If Donald Trump wants to talk about things that he thinks are horrible, all of us lived through his presidency, so right back at you buddy.” Other local leaders and residents also expressed their outrage and disappointment.(OnMilwaukee) (PBS Wisconsin).
