The other 18 injured victims are being treated for injuries ranging from non-life-threatening to life-threatening at various hospitals, including the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital, where 11 of the injured were taken.
Witnesses described a chaotic scene as police cordoned off the area to secure the crime scene and assist the injured. Fitzgerald said, “We have dozens of gunshot victims from this area. At least four of those gunshot victims are life-threatening.”
