Tekashi 6ix9ine Arrested in NYC for Alleged Parole Violations, Faces Federal Judge

Arrest for Parole Violations
Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, legally named Daniel Hernandez, was apprehended on Tuesday at the Manhattan federal courthouse for alleged severe parole violations tied to his 2019 sentencing in a widely publicized racketeering case. Hernandez had previously received a two-year prison sentence for his involvement with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, a gang connected to various violent acts.

The arrest stemmed from a warrant issued by Judge Paul A. Engelmayer, who initially sentenced Hernandez in December 2019. Tekashi 6ix9ine was scheduled to appear before Engelmayer on Tuesday afternoon to be arraigned on allegations of breaching the terms of his supervised release.

Previous Legal Troubles
Hernandez’s legal issues have continued to grow. Earlier in January, he was arrested in the Dominican Republic on domestic violence charges. Then, in October 2023, he was detained again by authorities in the Dominican Republic following accusations of assaulting a local music producer. His Dominican Republic attorney, Waldo Pimentel, claimed that evidence in the domestic violence case was “fabricated” by local prosecutors, which has added to the rapper’s ongoing legal entanglements.

Uncertain Future
Tekashi 6ix9ine’s legal team has not yet commented on the latest developments, leaving the rapper’s future uncertain as he faces potential repercussions for the alleged parole violations.
