DHL Sues MyPillow for Nearly $800,000 in Unpaid Bills
DHL, a global logistics and package delivery leader, has filed a lawsuit against MyPillow, the company founded by Mike Lindell, alleging nearly $800,000 in unpaid bills. This legal action, the latest in a series of lawsuits involving Lindell—a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump and a key figure in spreading claims about the 2020 election—could potentially tarnish MyPillow’s reputation.
Allegations of Contract Violation
According to the lawsuit filed in Hennepin County District Court in Minneapolis, DHL’s eCommerce division accuses MyPillow of violating a contract that mandates payment for parcel delivery services within 15 days of billing. In May 2023, the two companies reached a settlement requiring MyPillow to pay $775,000 in 24 monthly installments, beginning in April 2023. However, the lawsuit alleges that MyPillow has made only partial payments, totaling $64,583.34, with the last payment received on June 6.
DHL claims it notified MyPillow of its default status on July 2 and is now seeking $799,925.59, including interest and attorney fees.
Lindell’s Response
Mike Lindell, often referred to as the “MyPillow Guy,” told The Associated Press that he was unaware of the lawsuit but mentioned that his company stopped using DHL over a year ago due to shipping issues he attributed to DHL.
MyPillow’s Financial Struggles
This lawsuit adds to Lindell’s mounting legal troubles. MyPillow has been grappling with financial challenges after losing major retail partners and advertising platforms. A credit crunch severely impacted the company when it lost Fox News as a critical advertising outlet and was dropped by several national retailers. The company also owes substantial legal fees to lawyers defending Lindell in defamation cases brought by voting machine companies.
Earlier this year, a judge affirmed a $5 million arbitration award to a software engineer who successfully challenged Lindell’s claim that data he presented proved China interfered in the 2020 election. This decision dealt a significant financial blow to MyPillow.
Lindell’s legal and financial issues are far from over, with DHL’s lawsuit adding another challenge for the embattled entrepreneur and his company.
