Attempting to bolster support in a battleground state he lost twice but that polls indicate is tilting in his favor in the Nov. 5 election, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will conduct an outdoor event in scorching Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sunday.
Since a New York jury found him guilty on May 30 of fabricating documents to conceal a payment to a porn star on the eve of the 2016 election, Trump has not held a major rally.
The Trump campaign stated there would be water bottles, misting and cooling stations, and medical personnel on site in case of emergencies. It also encouraged participants to dress for the heat and stay hydrated. Nevada is likely to be one of the six or seven swing states that decide the election.
The New York City hush money case charged Donald Trump with 34 felonies, setting him for sentencing on July 11, 2024. Todd Blanche, his lawyer, requested a “mid-to-late July” date for sentencing and accepted July 11 when proposed in court.
Judge Juan Merchan, who presided over Donald Trump’s criminal hush money trial in New York on Friday, notified the defense team and prosecutors from the Manhattan district attorney’s office that a poster, claiming to be a juror’s cousin, had posted a comment on the New York State Unified Court Systems’ public Facebook page last week, predicting Trump’s conviction. This could result in a mistrial, but keep in mind that Trump still faces three felony trials in Georgia, Washington, and Florida.
