Incident Sparks Investigation

A Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) supervisor was recently fired and is now under investigation for allegedly instructing team members to bypass inspections of homes in Florida that displayed support for Donald Trump. According to a FEMA statement, these homes were located in areas heavily impacted by Hurricane Milton, and the supervisor reportedly directed FEMA workers to avoid these properties.

“Violation of FEMA’s Core Values”

FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell strongly condemned the supervisor’s alleged actions, labeling the behavior as “reprehensible” and entirely at odds with FEMA’s mission to assist all individuals affected by disasters, regardless of political beliefs. “This is a clear violation of FEMA’s core values and principles,” Criswell stated, underscoring FEMA’s commitment to impartiality. “We are committed to helping all individuals impacted by disasters without bias.”

Swift Action Taken

Following the incident, the supervisor was terminated, and the investigation was turned over to FEMA’s Office of Special Counsel, which handles internal misconduct cases within the agency. Criswell emphasized FEMA’s zero-tolerance stance on such behavior, stating, “This type of behavior and action will not be tolerated at FEMA, and we will hold individuals accountable if they violate these standards of conduct.”

Ensuring Accountability

Criswell reassured the public of her commitment to maintaining accountability within FEMA, adding, “I will continue to do everything I can to ensure this never happens again.”
