Israel’s military has introduced a daily “tactical pause” in fighting along a key route in southern Gaza, allowing for the delivery of humanitarian aid. This pause will last for 11 hours each day, aiming to reduce the need for coordinating deliveries and to provide a safer environment for aid trucks to move in and out of the crossing.

The pause will apply to a 12-kilometer stretch of road in the Rafah area, a crucial route for delivering aid to the Gaza Strip. This initiative comes as Israel and Hamas are considering a proposal for a ceasefire, with the international community urging both sides to find a resolution to the ongoing conflict.

Despite the pause, the Israeli military will continue targeting Hamas militants in the city of Rafah. However, the pause will allow for the delivery of much-needed aid to the region. The United Nations has welcomed this move, having been actively working to deliver aid to Gaza.
